# Verified Human

> A KYC-style credential issued after self-verification with a government-issued document: NFC passport, Aadhaar, driving license, or national ID.

## What is Verified Human

**Verified Human** is a basic KYC-style credential, issued after self-verification with a government-issued document, on top of your [Proof of Uniqueness](/billions-wallet/proof-of-uniqueness). Where PoU proves you're a real, unique individual with a face scan, Verified Human ties that uniqueness to a government-issued document, giving services a higher tier of trust for cases that need document-verified identity.

## Troubleshooting

### Passport & NFC

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="How do I know if my passport is NFC-enabled?">
    Look for the official biometric passport symbol (a small rectangle with a circle in the middle) on the front cover of your passport. Only passports with this symbol contain an NFC chip and are supported.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What are the best practices for a successful scan?">
    For the best results:

    * Use the latest version of the Billions app.
    * Remove any phone case, wallet sleeve, or passport cover.
    * Verify in a well-lit environment with a neutral background.

    * Disable Airplane Mode: it can interfere with NFC.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I'm getting an 'NFC scan already running' message. What should I do?">
